# 3095 Thomas, Spencerport and Penn Yan Win Saturday: DAY IN REVIEW: Webster Thomas scored the first goal of the game and although Fairport quickly tied it, the Titans went ahead early in the second quarter and never gave up the lead in their 7-5 win at Fairport this afternoon. The spectators saw a very defensive game with Titan senior goalie Ethan Ruller making All-American saves and Fairport junior goalie McLean Ralston making 12s (63%). |
# 3093 Herod Scores Game Winner With 8 Seconds On Clock In a rainy-muddy game played on Thursday afternoon, Marcus Whitman’s Ryan Herod scored the game winning goal with 0:08 left on the clock to give the Wildcats an 8-7 win over Wayne. This was only the second time in history that the Wildcats had defeated the Eagles (the last time was 2012). Herod was demonstrative in the game and finished with 2g-3a. For Wayne, Nate Michel was equally as impressive with 3g-2a. The Wildcats increased to 4-0 on the season with Wayne recording their first loss (2-1). Both see action again tomorrow with Wayne facing Mynderse and Marcus Whitman facing Gananda. |

# 3050 Wayne Excited to be Back on the Field Wayne is a respected program in the Finger Lakes and in Class C as they have seen continual growth in the program in the last few years. Although they were finalist in the Sectional tournament in 2018 and 2019, they have be unable to bring home the block. There have been several close games against Geneva so it is clear that the Eagles can win against the Panthers. |
# 2922 Geneva Wins 2nd Straight Title Geneva won their second back to back Class C Championship tonight against Wayne 10-1. The Panthers defeated the Eagles 13-2 last year. The Panthers were slowly plodding throughout the contest and added a few goals in each quarter. Midfielder Sam Miller was named the Class C All Tournament MVP after a 3g-3a day (60% of all goals). Additionally, goalie Brandon Wayne finished with an exceptional day, recording 13 saves. Of those, 10 came in the first half while holding the Eagles scoreless during that period. Both senior were instrumental in the success of the Panthers this season. |

# 2882 Canandaigua Come From Behind Win at Hilton Monday: DAY IN REVIEW: Canandaigua came back in the last quarter in a 11-10 come from behind win against Hilton. The Braves trailed for the entire contest prior to their final goal with 5:24 left on the clock. The Cadets, who led by three early in the game, could not tie the game for the sixth time in the final minutes. The scoring for Hilton was spread out with six players scoring a single goal and the leading scorer (Ryan Butts) finished with 2g-2a. For the Braves, Mark Belles led with 4g-1a. Face-off midfielder Shawn Doran finished 18/25 for Hilton, with a team leading 11 ground balls. |
# 1429 Geneva Wins First Title Since 2008 Geneva defeated Wayne 13-2 to win the Section Five Class C Championship. This is the first win for the Panthers since 2008. Geneva was led in scoring by junior midfielder Sam Miller with 3g-2a. Miller was named Most Valuable Player for the Class C All Tournament Team. |
# 1419 Wayne Advances to the Finals for First Time in Program History Sophomore John Reagan scored the game winning goal in the first overtime period to give second seeded Wayne the 11-10 win over third seeded HFL. The Cougars took over the game early scoring five of the first six goals to take a 5-1 lead early in the second quarter. Garrett Ruff scored two early goals for the Cougars to set the pace. He scored with a single dodge with 7:37 remaining and off a behind the back goal (assisted by Josh Barski) with 3:13 remaining. Junior Andrew Mapstone scored two of his own in the run. |
# 1388 Weise Scores in Overtime to Lift Gananda Gananda’s John Weise scored the game winning goal during the first overtime period. The Blue Panthers defeated Wayne 9-8 after scoring four of the last five goals. Gananda opened up the game with the first two goals. Evan Smith scored off a feed from Jake Rapp followed by Rapp scoring off a feed from Weise. Wayne responded with five unanswered goals to go up 5-2 with 2:23 remaining in the half. Brett Cunningham scored the final goal of the half to put the Blue Panthers within two goals. |
